Jacklyn de la Cruz has been a vocal coach
and a piano instructor in the areas of
San Gabriel Valley, San Bernardino and
Riverside County for about 8 years now.
Ms. de la Cruz has been teaching private
students whose age may range from 7 and
up. Teaching in classical, Broadway and
contemporary styles, Ms. de la Cruz has
brought music instruction in studios such
as KYR, Dancecapade, NoteWorthy Music
Conservatory, her students' private homes
and at her home studio in Rowland Heights.
A performer herself, Jacklyn has sung
for musicals, cruiselines and special
ocassions such as weddings. She has worked
with Stilletto Entertainment and the Holland
America Cruiseline, where she was the
Maasdam's cast female lead singer. She
has also worked with Elizabeth Howard's
Curtain Call Dinner Theater in Tustin,
where she played the role of "Tuptim"
in the King and I. She was also cast in
Camelot at the Downey Civic Light Opera.
Jacklyn had her music training from the
Cal Poly Pomona University, where she
earned her B.A. in Music and graduated
Cum Laude. With her emphasis in Vocal
Performance, Ms. de la Cruz studied voice
with Dr. Susan Burns. She also had her
piano studies with Dr. Phillip Clarke.
After college, Jacklyn studied contemporary
vocal styles with the internationally
recognized voice expert and founder of
Voiceworks, Lisa Popeil. Jacklyn also
loves to share what she has learned from
several workshops like Auditioning for
Musical Theatre with Carol Weiss and Jason
Kincaid, Total Singer Workshop with Lisa
Popeil (Contemporary Styles), and the
Classical Master Class with recording
artist Patrice Bedi.
